Frequently Asked Questions

Who we are

We are SeaCoyote; we have reimagined the way yachting works! We provide our customers the ability to lease a vessel of their choice for as long as they want. Everything is included except fuel and your expenses. Insurance, taxes, homeport marina, regulatory compliance, maintenance are covered by just paying a monthly fee! You do not have to worry about anything, and no long-term commitments are required.

We currently operate in marinas in Greece. Greece is the top yachting destination attracting yachters from around the world and offering many interesting areas to explore. Our main fleet is based in Attica where the largest international airport of Greece (El. Venizelos) is located.

We are planning to expand to Cyprus, Italy and beyond.

SeaCoyote offers a flexible yacht leasing solution that can also be considered as a “long-term yacht rental”. The customer pays a monthly fee, while enjoying:

  • Exclusivity of use of an amazing yacht for as many semesters as you wish.
  • The right to purchase the yacht at anytime
  • The right to change the yacht with another one (after one year).
  • Yacht insurance, registry and tax obligations covered
  • Full compliance to regulations and safety standards
  • Planned maintenance taken care of
  • A home berth that may be changed (subject to berth availability) once per year
  • 200€ of marina utilities/month
  • Premium equipment onboard (check inventory on vessel pages)
  • Timely preparation of the vessel before each embarkation

Additionally, with an extra cost (ad hoc basis) you get:

  • Embarkation and Disembarkation from / to a Greek port other than the home port; no round trips required.
  • Mobile Internet access through a proper SIM / 5G box
  • Skipper services if needed

All you need is a proper skipper’s certification, and the yacht is yours to enjoy!

The duration of the contract is approximately semiannual, and it is renewed automatically. Regardless of the beginning dates, contracts are automatically terminated or renewed (the next day) on 19/1 and 19/7 every year.

Should you wish to terminate your contract or opt to change your yacht with another one, you will have to notify us 3.5 months before the aforementioned dates at the latest.

Note that the vessel will be out of the water sometime during 15/11 – 30/3 for maintenance and weather protection reasons. (The exact dates may vary based on weather and other environmental factors). Your yacht subscription is still active during that time, since the vessel is being prepared for you.

Note that you have the option to change your vessel with another one after having leased your existing one for at least 1 year. You may also buy the yacht anytime you wish.

You have the right to use the vessel exclusively during your subscription period within Greek waters. We mainly provide a ‘bareboat’ service, meaning that we do not offer accompanying skippers. There is, however, the option of providing you with one (should you require it). In any case, you may embark/disembark whenever you wish, and common logic regarding the use of the vessel applies.

You begin with a home berth in a marina in Attica. This provides you with easy access to the Cyclades and the Argosaronic Islands. Should you prefer to have a home base in a different geographic region of Greece, you may ask us to provide you with alternatives. Note that:

  • You may change your home marina only once per year.
  • There must be a 6-month prior notice. This will provide us with enough time to perform all the necessary arrangements.
  • The ability to change your home marina is subject to berth availability and our business presence at the new marina desired.
  • The logistics costs occured are charged as an extra service.

Currently, the demand for berths exceeds the supply in Greece, so please be patient as we are trying to accommodate your needs.

Υou must stay within Greek waters. Moreover, before embarking you should notify us about the general area of your planned trip for your safety. The geocoordinates of the position of our vessels are monitored 24×7, and we should learn from you about any deviations from the planned route in a timely manner.

Knowing the embarkation/disembarkation dates is also mandatory in order for the proper bureaucratic procedures to take place.

No, they are not! You may require to get your vessel at port X, and disembark at another location! Our skippers will move the vessel for you. This makes the exploration of the Greek seas much more interesting! Please note that this service is not covered by your monthly fee, but it is charged on an ad hoc basis, based on the distance that our skippers have to travel.

The insurance covers under certain conditions:

  • Damages inflicted to 3rd parties.
  • Damages inflicted to own vessel (after a deductible threshold). Details vary heavily based on the type and extent of the damage, the underlying circumstances, the effective reason of the damage etc.
  • Towing assistance costs (in specific cases).

Note that you are responsible for the cost of damages that have occured due to your negligence, mistakes and -generally- your actions (or lack thereof). Using the vessel under harsh weather conditions or under threat of them, or under the influence of alcohol / drugs is considered critical negligence on your behalf.

It is strongly recommended to get a “Civil Libility” Insurance coverance for yourself as a skipper. The cost for this is born by our firm, making this an integral part of our service. We will guide you on how to obtain it.

Each SeaCoyote yacht is equipped with premium amenities, including an air conditioner with heating, generator, electric WC’s, USB ports etc. Please consult with each vessel webpage in order to know the details about each yacht.

Except for the technical equipment mentioned on each yacht page, the vessel is accompanied by a premium inventory that includes:

  • Rich galley equipment
  • Premium linen items
  • Shampoo, shower gel, and soap
  • Snorkelling equipment
  • Safety equipment
  • Repair kits for dinghy, vessel, sails
  • A wide range of spare items for the vessel

Upon request, we also provide you with food items before each embarkation.

We perform the heavy-lifting for you! There is a ton of paperwork to be prepared, equipment to be maintained, certifications to be obtained, but this is what WE will be taking care of.

You just have to focus on enjoying your yacht.

Every time you wish to embark, you must give us a notification of 4 working days in advance, to prepare the vessel. You should also provide us with the list of people who will be onboard. We will then:

  • Supply the vessel with what is needed
  • Prepare the necessary paperwork
  • Welcome you during your embarkation

Should you wish, you are able to choose to be the one handling the paperwork, thus negating the need for notifying us.

In case you have selected a different port of departure from your home base, our skippers will bring the vessel to you.

Please validate your disembarkation date / time with us at least 48hrs before should you need assistance with the paperwork

After the disembarkation, we:

  • Inspect the vessel for potential damages and/or missing supplies
  • Begin the cleaning and resupplying procedures

Should you wish, you are able to choose to be the one handling the paperwork, thus negating the need for notifying us that early.

The vessel is maintained during winter months. The exact dates depend on weather and workshop availability. Maintenance includes drydocking procedures, so be patient while your vessel is being prepared.

The monthly fee gives you the exclusive right to use the yacht, as well as:

  • The right to purchase it at anytime
  • The right to change it with another one (after one year).

Your voyages are meant to be a blissful experience, so everything is covered aside from your personal expenses and fuel.

By paying some small additional fees, you are able enjoy:

  • Embarkation and Disembarkation from / to a Greek port other than the home port; no round trips required.
  • Mobile Internet access through a proper SIM / 5G box
  • Skipper services if needed

These fees are not standard, and they are calculated on an ad hoc basis just for you. Visit our website often, as we are continuously adding new services to enrich your experience.

As common logic dictates, you may be charged extra for:

  • Damages performed to the vessel or its accompanying equipment. Vessels are inspected after each use, and during winter maintenance (when a much more thorough inspection is performed).
  • Missing items (kitchenware, oars etc)
  • Refueling the vessel before embarking
  • Costs of groceries, water, beverages etc that we may buy and deliver to you
  • The cost of marina utilities above the 200€ threshold (if any).

These costs will be added to your next monthly fee to be paid.

You only have to take care of your “travel expenses”, eg fuel, food and water, berths you may require at visited moorings, other personal expenses.

Upon signing a contract, you will be required to pay a deposit in order to consider your vessel booked. This deposit is equal to 2 monthly fees. The deposit may be returned only after 12 months, upon the actual return of the vessel. In essence, this constitutes a warranty of some kind. If the contract is terminated before, then the deposit is not returned.

Υου do not have to pay again for a new deposit if you just change your vessel for another one. Moreover, the deposit is subtracted from the vessel price if you decide to buy the vessel at any time.

Each monthly fee is invoiced 20 calendar days before the beginning of the leasing month, and must be paid 10 calendar days before the start of the month (at the latest).

The 1st monthly payment constitutes an exception, since it has to be paid 60 days before the physical delivery of the vessel in order for it to be considered ‘booked’.

Think about it: If you buy a vessel, you will have to find the right one, and tie all your money at once in a long-term commitment with no easy way out. You will have to take care of every little detail yourself, about homeports, insurance, taxes, complex regulatory issues (which are complex) etc. This hassle will gradually take away the good parts of the yachting experience. And when you decide to sell your yacht….good luck with finding a buyer at the right price quickly… We, on the other hand, aim to keep the best of the yachting experience, while getting rid of all the “bad” parts that come with owning a vessel. We love amazing products and we want to give you the easiest and nicest, smooth sailing you have seen!

The luxury taxes imposed in certain countries also act as a deterrent for direct ownership.

Chartering is for short-term vacations. It resembles what a Rent-a-Car business is for cars. If you plan on using a yacht for 1-2 weeks/year, then chartering may be for you. If you wish to have a deeper, longer and more exclusive relationship with your yacht, then SeaCoyote is the way to go.

Buying a vessel, obtaining a commercial license and handing it over to a charter business to utilize means that:

  • You have to acquire the vessel yourself. In essence, you finance the charter firm.
  • You face constraints on when, and how much you can enjoy your yacht
  • You bear the risks that a business faces (variance in revenues and extraordinary expenses)
  • You have to find a buyer after you are done with your yacht

SeaCoyote promotes a totally different approach solving all the aforementioned issues.

You just need to have:

  • An internationally acknowledged skipper’s certification (assuming you are the skipper)
  • A good credit status
  • Appetite for life 😊
  1. Find a vessel that suits your needs and contact us. Alternatively, contact us to help us identify the perfect vessel for you.
  2. Send us your documents (id, skipper’s certification, credit related)
  3. Sign a contract upon our approval
  4. Make your deposit
  5. Enjoy!

Contact us and help us understand your needs and wishes. We will find the perfect yacht, and acquire it for you.

The duration of the contract is approximately semiannualand it is renewed automatically. Regardless of the beginning dates, contracts are automatically terminated or renewed (the next day) on 19/1 and 19/7 every year.

Yes! You may buy your yacht anytime you wish! No questions asked. We will do everything we can to offer you the best price we are able to. It’s your yacht after all.

Yes! You may change the leased vessel after one year of having leased it. There is no extra cost involved, and you do not have to pay a new deposit.

Please note that all vessel exchanges happen at the end of the leasing contract (19/1 or 19/7), and we need to have been notified at least 3.5 months before these dates.

The short answer is yes. You may lease a vessel from us, and utilize it in the context of your business activities. Keep in mind though that the pricing mentioned on our website is not applicable to your case. You are eligible for special discounts and customized solutions. Contact us for further information.

The main differences are:

  • We do not charter the vessel to you, but you get to be a disponent shipowner. That means that you can use the vessel as it it were your own.
  • You get special discounts, after customizing the leasing solution especially to you.
  • You lease the vessel on a season-by-season basis. You designate the beginning and the end of your season!
  • The warranty (Flexdeposit) is returned to you after the physical return and inspection of the vessel, should you decide to discontinue our partnership.
  • The annual cost of the vessel is paid in monthly installments. The number of installments equal to the months of your operating season (eg April to Ocrober).
  • The check ins, check outs, marketing, charter sales, daily ops of your business remain with you.

You still get more than a vessel. Insurance, regular maintenance, and other costs are on us.

Charter firms can use a yacht as if they owned it, without the full financial and logistical burdens. The B2B arrangement is structured as a disponent ownership contract, allowing you to use the vessel under your own branding and for your customers. This way, you have operational control while SeaCoyote covers the primary insurance, maintenance, and regulatory costs.

We listen to your requirements and purchase the appropriate vessel suitable for you. In order to achieve this, we may cooperate during the selection process and sign a draft contract.

The pricing is calculated on an ad hoc basis. SeaCoyote offers custom pricing options based on factors like marina costs and the scope of maintenance services needed. Discounts may be available if you cover certain operational costs yourself, such as marina or check-in/out expenses.
